Cyril Lancelot CLARKE, son of John CLARKE (c. 1865-c. 1905) and Janet GLOVER (c. 1867-c. 1925), was born on 3 November 1889 in North Lopham, Norfolk. He was baptised on 22 December 1889 in North Lopham , the ceremony was conducted by Rev. J F BATEMAN, Rector - parents John (labourer) and Jeannette. No service record has been found for Cyril. His medal roll gives his service as Gunner 79518, (Motor Branch) Machine Gun Corps. He was transferred to the Class “Z” Army Reserve on 19 December 1919. (The 1918 Absent Voters List for North Lopham confirms the service details.) No definite place and date of death was found for Cyril but if he was buried in Hindley, Lancashire, then he may have died on 7 May 1957.

Death:	1957 : No definitive place and date of death was found for Cyril but if he was buried in Hindley, Lancashire, then he may have died on 7 May 1957.
Elect. Roll:	In 1923 the Electoral Register showed him living at The Green in North Lopham, probably with his mother Janet.
